What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I have gone right of sweeteners, too sweet for me but never really like them anyway

FBG 5.8 on Mr Libre this morning, after 23 hours in various planes, and longer in airports, taxis and generally hanging around. Reporting in from New Zealand…

Apart from trying to avoid carbs at every turn, it’s not been as bad as I feared. I did succumb to pastries at breakfast and I got my emergency cheese sticks confiscated on the way in
but otherwise Libre shows within range, most of the time.

@Ashybang awesome progress!

Libre 5.7
Finger prick 5.5

Yet another day of CGM reading (slightly) higher than meter - curious. Still in the hive though.

@callyandy you are only 0.9999999 or in other words a smear of melted chocolate licked off a finger away from 6s.
@Ladynijo thats impressive after such a long and probably stressful at times trip. Yes, New Zealand is very very strict on bringing food, bugs or plant life into the country. Even check hiking boots to make sure there is no dried mud with plant seeds stuck in the soles.
@Lainie71 I had my bah humbug sign done and displayed from mid-November

All others, hugs of congrats or commiseration where appropriate - tomorrow is another day.

6.1 fasting for me today, so a good start. Appointment with my GP this afternoon and I confess I really nervous as my last Hba1c 10 days ago read 101!! Since then I've done a lot of work and brought my BGs down dramatically and lost 8lb. I'm really hoping he'll give me more time rather than reaching for the prescription pad.

Whatever happens there's no more I could have done.

Stay well everyone

For the first time I was in the 6's yesterday, super happy with that! I feel I've been indulging a bit recently however it has been with dark chocolate and homemade low sugar stuff so maybe thats been OK.
I had a square of my partners galaxy chocolate and found it disgusting! Crazy how the taste buds can change.
