(Chrome seems to take care of my bookmarks - and share them with my phone, my Kindle, blah blah) Coke and Pepsi are both corporate partners in the British Nutrition Foundation. I particularly like this bit: "Corporate membership is open to organisations, companies and corporations from a range of backgrounds, such as banking, insurance, the food chain, health care, fitness, IT and media. We believe that our focus on objective nutrition science interpretation and delivery by experienced and skilled in-house staff, our extensive networks in education, academia and the health professions, and our experience over many decades of working with government and with food companies to make nutrition science accessible, provides tangible benefits for our members." (Not the public) Translation: If you have the money, we'll make the science fit. I'm still gobsmacked by how brazenly it's all taking place. How obvious. How the recommended adult daily intake of sugar increased by 5g a day on the last revision to "reflect new thinking". My only surprise is the lack of companies that make medicine for heart, kidney and liver patients as, I guess, they're the ultimate beneficiaries. It's hard not to be cynical.
