Yes, thats right. I splitted my dose like year ago cuz my late night BG were high. So instead of smth 24 units i was doing 12 before sleep and 12 in the morning. It swemed to work fine. Yesterday before dinner i measured BG 8. So i thought i try out omlette without injecting insulin. As i know omlette dont got carbs so much. 2 hours later BG was 11. I did 3 units novorapid and tried increasing lantus from 10 to 12. At 1 oclock night my BG was 3.9. I ate like 33 carbs. And then at 6 am my BG was 10, lowest morning i had in 2 weeks. I did my injections 20 minutes before eating and ill see what my BG show when i get to work@Alekssanderi i notice you mentioned taking your Lantus in the morning.
Some people find it does not work for the full 24 hours. I wonder if it starting to run out for you overnight which is contributing to your morning highs.
As mentioned, changing your long acting insulin may help. Or you could split your Lantus to take some in the morning and some at night.
