What's your favourite Christmas film(s)

When son lived in London he used to see Bill Nighy quite often. Unfortunately he refused to pass on my number with the message that he wouldn't have to ask twice. He didn't pass on the message when he saw Bryan Ferry either.

Sons eh lol ......... Chris, you know what you have to ask Santa for then

RRB

My all time favourite, whatever time of year is The Colour Purple starring Whoopie Goldberg so many emotions

haven't got any favourite films, I do enjoy films but once you've seen it you've seen it, like books, I only read them once, so films at Christmas are very boring, the 'Same Old Same Old'." Yawn"

Home Alone; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Some Like it Hot (not a Christmas film but tends to be on then); the Snowman.
I really don't like the Wizard of Oz - very weird and creepy.
Love The Sound of Music.

Anyone like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Very funny with Chevvy Chase. We love it and watch it every year.

Long film, you need at least 5 boxes of tissues to get through it lol. Brill acting by Whoopi .

I really like Crimson Tide as well.

I was also lucky enough to visit Faslane about 16 years ago when I was in the Scouts. Unfortunately we didn't get on any of the nuclear subs, just a little normal one.

Yip Dtennant9, it is a huge place and you kinda need Top Secret clearance to jump down one of the SSBNs (nuclear missile/Vanguard Class) lol

Yeah we were extremely lucky to get the trip and it was really interesting.

I have a whole list! For our family, Christmas is all about lots of laughter and fun, so any 'feel-good' movie or one which is full of emotions becomes a Christmas special for us which all of us enjoy together. Here are some from my list:
  • A Christmas Carol: Robert Zemeckis brings his mo-cap expertise to bear in the ingenious decision to have Jim Carrey play the three ghosts as well as Ebenezer Scrooge.
  • Home Alone 2 - Lost in New York: Love the scene where Kevin is reunited with his mom under the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
  • Arthur Christmas: What happens if Santa misses a gift delivery? Not to worry, Santa's son Arthur is on hand to take the reins and make everything alright again.
  • Penguins of Madagascar: Would rate this as one of the best Christmas movies for kids; full of gags, this one will have everyone in splits of laughter throughout.
  • The Santa Clause: Tim Allen notices some unusual changes when a Santa-slaying accident forces him to step up to become the new Father Christmas.
  • ***** and Alexander: Ingmar Bergman's epic chronicle of a Swedish family in the early 20th century sees the world through the eyes of the titular children - and inevitably, what, kids remember most is Christmas.

I like "It happened on 5th avenue". Not precisely a Christmas film but and Admirable Crichton type of story with a feel good factor.

National lampoons European Adventure is funnier. And what about Airplane too, a joke every minute, nearly had urinary incontinence watching it lol
