Hi Charmaine, I also know what it is like on a tight budget as both myself and my husband are on disability pensions and that does not go far, at least we get a little help with the cost of meds. My diet also is lacking in some areas due to the finances. Hang in there and take care.Hi bambee and clive ...at the moment, no meds, only hubby working at moment, so sadly no medical aid, I buy Victoza when we have some of a financial gap here and there? You would be shocked if you saw our government hospitals? And they would just put me on insulin!! Which I know is not necessary right now! When I find work again, I will go back to my diabetic DR .... I just need to watch what I eat .... Its a little difficult when you have a certain budget to adhere to to make it through the month. Starch and sugar is in most of my monthly groceries. But thanks for caring B-)

Hi Charmaine, your levels concern me. I was just on the American Norvo Nordisc website and they have something called PAP which offers help to diabetics who can't afford there meds. There is an online form to complete, they need to confirm proof of income but if approved and if I have understood it right you may be able to get your diabetic meds free for a while till your back on your feet financially. Mey be worth checking out.Tks Clive its good to know I'm not alone in this boat!
Hi Charmaine, me again. Not sure where you live but the website I just posted about is novonordisc-us.comp. the program is PAP patient assistance program. It provides free medication if you qualify. If approved they supply 120 days of meds then contact your health provider 90 days later to re supply. Take care21.8 ... Just took my count, Had a peanut butter sandwich and coffee @ 12:00 its now 17:15 ... Just had lotsa water since lunch? Had low GI brown bread
Thank you for caring Bambee and trying to help B-) Hope your diabetes is doing well :-D Take Care!Hi Charmaine, I am so sorry to hear what a mess things are we're you live. We hear horrible stories about medical care there if you could even call it that. I actually live in Australia. Please be careful with the Victoza, as a retired nurse I was curious about it and looked it up. It is not insulin and has some pretty bad possible side effects. Take care
