People often ask when is the best time to test after meals.
I was always told that digestion starts as soon as you take the first mouthful so count that at the start of however you decide, 1 -2 hrs later. I was then told by a Professor who specialising in diabetes that the best time to see what was happening was to test 90 minutes after the first bite. It is difficult if you are prolonging the meal by good conversation from others and not the usual 20 minutes at home alone for me.
I cam across this article and there has been a study done, which seems to show that peaks vary. Once again, we are all different even with the rate of digestion.
The study was done on insulin users, Type1 and Type2 and they were wearing CGM's.
