When to stop taking Metformin

Hello, I just wondered how a GP decides it’s time for a type 2 diabetic to come off medication?
Thanks in advance for any replies and insights.

When your blood sugars are normal and stable. There is no recommended time. It is up to each doctor to decide.

Or you could always decide for yourself of course...
