Morning @cmor16 how long did you give each diet before you changed it? It can take a while for your body to get use to a certain way of eating. I'm on LCHF again started on 30th April. First week or so had a few problems but they soon got sorted.. I now do 18/6 fasting every day 20.00 t0 14.00 next day with only water black tea and vitamin water on fast. also on 20% carbs or less per day. I some times don't feel hungry at the end of my fast but have to have food as on medication.
What are your Bs readings?
Don't worry you will soon find the right diet that suits you. You are in the right place for help and advice. Good luck
I understand your disappointment we have all been there. Do you have a lot of weight to loose? Cant understand if you are on less than 20% carbs why you would not loose weight. If like you say your Bs are normal I would not worry that much.I started off just cutting out sugar, potatoes etc then realised because I wasn't seeing any change I did various types of low carb diet. I can't say how long I spent on each one, sorry. I have been keeping to 20g carbs or less and still nothing. I am a bit loath to get into any more long periods of fasting after yesterday and I'm so disappointed it didn't work.
My BS readings ever since I started testing have been more or less normal all the way since I'm not really eating anything that would spike it to any great extent.
I just don't know what I can do that I haven't already done :-(

2 or 3 stone is not a lot, are you going by how you feel or by the daft BMI scale? Your body may be comfortable with the weight you are! I need to loose a lot weight because I'm struggling a bit, but it will come off this time and stay off. Like I said you will find a diet that suits you and the weight will start to come off. If you only have a little to loose its often harder but you will get there.I could do with losing 2-3 stone. When I was first diagnosed, I read that if you lose 10% of your body weight you can reverse the situation and that's what I've been determined to do but have failed pretty badly! My BS readings are good though so that's one positive thing at least.

Can you tell us what you eat in a typical day?
Sounds ok to me. I did the Desmond course and it helped consolidate what I had learned from this site. Except for the food part.
During the introduction, I told them I was doing LCHF. During the lunch break I was horrified at the food coming out. Bananas, lucozade, white bread sandwiches. I was munching on cheese, walnuts and olives. The lady next to me was sneaking pickled gerkhins from deep in her bag. She was the only other person who self tested besides me.
@Sweetbinty wow, as a T2 I couldn't eat most of that.My diabetic nurse has advised...
Keeping to a low cal low carb diet
Slow release carbs hi protein.
My typical diet is
Porridge 40 g
200ml skim milk
Half grapefruit
Salad chicken or tuna ham
Greek yogart ... low in carbs 100g is 5g
Melon strawberries any fruit
Tea is half plate of veg
Meat and 2 sml pots or jkt pot
Its hard losing weight but get on a carb counting course its changed my outlook.
Im replacing starchy carbs with healthy carbs.
Hope this helps
Type 1 for 48 years !!

The following are out for me, porridge, milk, melon, and potatoes! I assume you use insulin to regulate things.
Again, WOW! Whatever works for you!Im careful on amounts of fruit
Greek yogart is a food staple for me.
5g of carb.
My bloods are 4.5 to 5 pre meals
Post meals around 9 to 11 but drop rapidly after a couple of hours.
On the course many peoples bloods rose as insulin im on lasts 4 hours with a basal in the background.
Melon is mainly wtr so causes no problems
Kiwi strawberries in moderation arent an issue.
48 years in and i have no health issues no neuropathy issues no eye problems.
Its about life is for living eat foods in moderation and correct carb counting stops the food spikes
I've whinged at length on here about not being to lose weight, so I apologise for doing it yet again but I just don't know what to do next.
It's been nearly two months since my prediabetes diagnosis and despite doing low carb, low carb high fat, low carb high fat moderate protein, low carb moderate protein moderate fat, fasting 18/6 and I have lost only 6.5lbs. So yesterday, I decided to do a 24hr fast. It was fine, and when I finally broke my fast I found I couldn't eat all of my meal. I could have eaten something later on but wasn't really hungry so I didn't.
I was really excited to get weighed this morning so you can imagine how I felt when the scales showed I had actually gained weight. It was only .1 of a kilo but it was still-I was expecting to lose not gain! I drank loads of water (and went to loo loads of times) and had cider vinegar before I went to bed so I have no clue what's going on. It's not that I'm losing inches either as I look the same and my clothes feel the same.
I obviously have some sort of Insulin resistance but I have been testing my blood every day and my readings are always normal now (except for sometimes slightly high first thing in the morning).
Can anyone help me please? I am not giving up but I just need to see some progress!
