Hi my hbc1a was 54mm in March then June 36mm then in November it was 35mm. I’ve just seen your post. And your diet only I am to what I wanted to know what happens if you do have a treat when your hbc1a is normal if you get a spike is that ok because your in the normal range?
And alcohol is ok to drink the like vodka gin whiskey ext I do have a few coors light now and then I’m ok
Well done mine was 54mm and I’m only diet and exercise no medication how do you get a OGTT test done? Is that the one with Lucozade drink? I’ve had gestational diabetes 3 times then it’s went back to normal. So the odd spikes are ok once your in remission or reversed it if u had a high carb meal. Can you eat crisps? I can get away with quavers and Pom bears and snack peas and is it white wine or red I’ve never tryed wine just coors or vodka thanksI've been lucky in that I had a low diagnostic level, 52 & caught early.
I hit it hard out the gate & lost 5st.
I was fragile in the beginning, even though my A1c was in range I still showed large spikes from eating simple carbs.
Slowly over time I was able to add back in a few more carbs to my diet & I ate to my meter.
14 months post remission I easily passed a 75g OGTT.
So I reckon I spike similar to non-diabetic so I allow myself the occasional treat like Christmas day.
Diet & Zero mixers are fine with spirits.
Wine also seems to be fine for most.
Beers vary from 4gs carbs in Coors Light to 18gs carbs in Guinness, only your meter will tell you.
Be careful though if you are on any medication.

The reversed/remission debate is a minefield. So the odd spikes are ok once your in remission or reversed it if u had a high carb meal.

lol I can imagine.. thanks againOf course you can but you must consider other issues, like meds, going hypo, getting the munchies, gaining weight, killing your liver etc.
Fist thing I Googled after my diagnosis was " Can a diabetic drink wine" . . . Imagine my happiness
Oh sorry, being lazy not writing it out properly. It’s a low carb company that make low carb cakes, brownies and cookies and they did some Xmas stuff too this year. Here’s a link to the Deliciously Guilt Free website:

They look low on choices just now, but they generally have stock updates on Friday evenings.
