If you mean sudafed, then yes people with diabetes can use it as long as your GP is happy about it. The reason the warning is there is due to the potential rise in BP not bs. I was advised to not take for more than 3 days.
Have you thought about using a vaporiser that plugs into the wall (Karvol) other makes available?

Does it contain pseudoephedrine?
as in

If so it may cause a rise in glucose levels and blood pressure.
This seems a good article on what to think about when looking for over the counter medicines.

It's also worth talking to the pharmacist about alternatives.
( As a T1 with no BP problems my pharmacist said as long as I monitored then it would OK, to take a similar drug but that was me . I use the same pharmacist every time and he has known me for seven years now and knows that I monitor frequently and normally have good control )

thank you guys. i found some morrisons own ones that dont have that pseudo thingy in so i took those

Olive Leaf Extract from Holland and Barrett is said to get rid of bacteria and virus infections. Quite a few people have said they haven't had a cold since they started taking it. I just started on it a few days ago because I was getting cold symptoms, so far no cold has appeared.

It was about £8 for a small bottle which will probably last about a month so I thought it was worth a try.

I always use sudafed if i get a cold. I make sure I don't go over the recommended dose and sso far I've been fine. I does make my sinuses easier.

As a Type 1 on MDI insulin, I was told that the Cold and Flu remedies containing drugs that induce drowsiness were ill advised because they may prevent me from waking up during a hypo whilst sleeping.
