Why does metformin give me wind?

Now you know why it has been given the nickname Metfartin :lol:

To keep all side effects to the absolute minimum (such as farting for England), its best to ask your GP to change your scrip to the slow release version :thumbup:
 
As Hobs says that's why it has the metfartin nickname, been on the stuff for 13 years and still have plenty of wind left.
 
It was what the doc told me when I was prescribed met for the first time, as I was already a world champion trumpy bum I figured at least I got a good excuse now
 
When taking metformin, the more carbs you eat, the more wind you get. Simple remedy - cut the carbs :wink:
