Why Metformin not Creatine

I've been laid up for @6 months with three spine Operations during which I spent alot of time reading. One interesting fact was the use of Creatine to reduces blood sugars as it's naturally made in the body rather than using Metformin a man made drug. I have used Creatine previously for training on three month cycles and had great gains for training, I'm wondering if any specialists out there have heard of this and why the British health Organisation doesn't investigate into it.

In addition to improving athletic performance, creatine is used for congestive heart failure (CHF), depression, bipolar disorder, Parkinson’s disease, diseases of the muscles and nerves, an eye disease called gyrate atrophy, and high cholesterol. It is also used to slow the worsening of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease), rheumatoid arthritis, McArdle’s disease, and for various muscular dystrophies.
