WHY WHY O WHY DOES THE NHS BUYING PEAPLE

Personally speaking if I had pre-loaded cartridges I'd be probably wasting a lot of insulin, I use the smaller of the Medtronic reservoirs - the 1.8ml one, but I still never fill it, normally I only put in about 1.1ml per reservoir otherwise it'd last 5 days or so (I normally use about 30-35 units a day give or take) and you're not supposed to use them for that long.
Though over Christmas I did need fuller reservoirs

Whilst this may not affect people in the UK getting their insulin from the NHS financially, it would affect the millions everywhere else in the world who have to pay a lot for insulin, but the pumps are not just for the UK.
And for me it would feel like a waste on our already struggling NHS

One if the biggest issues is insulin only lasts for about 3 days in the plastic pump reservoir so these can not be prefilled .. so for this to work the pumps would have to take glass vials which opens up the risk to damage

2nd everyone's needs are different, I use about 100units a day.. some may only use 20 or so.. the way it currently is allows the user to add as much insulin as they need for 3 days

So no I don't agree

My previous pump, Accu-Chek Insight, took glass NovoRapid pump carts. Because it was a tubed pump, it did not waste insulin. I was given my current pump (also tubed) three years ago but, unfortunately, it has plastic reservoirs. At the time, the hospital did not offer Ypsomed pumps (those use glass pump carts) but that would have been my preference.
It is just a personal thing with me, from some twenty years ago, when I had breast cancer and I read how it would be best to avoid anything plastic. I cannot even remember who advised me. Even now any bottled water I buy will be in glass bottles. However, rightly or wrongly, I decided to take the risk with teflon tubing.

Some do just need more insulin than others, I know when I went on a carb counting course in 2019, one person there needed 1 unit per 2 or 3 carbs eaten (whilst another only needed 1 unit per 50 carbs), you cant just assume everyone uses 1unit per 10, I know I need more than that

Different people need different amounts of background insulin as well
