Will my body take nutrients from food at high blood sugar?

To elaborate on the title of this topic, I'm wondering at what blood sugar level does your body start rejecting the nutrients from foods?

For example, if I ate an apple, and my blood sugar was 10mmol, would my body still take in the nutrients for that apple or just reject it through my body? Just wondering if 7mmol is the maximum for this, or can it go a bit higher?

I'm type 1 by the way.

Thanks.

John.

i'm guessing here and applying logic. There may be someone along who actually knows.
Very probably it would. If there were a mechanism to stop taking in nutrients, no-one would ever get overweight.
I suspect that the absorption of some micronutrients might go wrong, perhaps some vitamin.
