I would so love to join in with this. I want to try and improve fitness, get more energy but motivation is seriously lacking at the moment, body won't behave as I want it to and it depresses me...got the hump. I do enjoy reading about what everyone gets up to though
I know that feeling, @ladybird64 , and I am sorry you are feeling it.
All is not lost though. The fact that you are looking in suggests there is some motivation lurking there.
When @Jamrox first started these challenges, almost two years ago, I think, I was trying to recover from serious illness, and had been unable to do much for myself for months. Toe by toe I started to get moving a bit. Nothing much more some days than tapping my feet, or raising my arms a bit. What the wonderful people providing the encouragement here did for me was to make me realise that although I was never going to go fell running, exercise does not have to mean endurance sport or getting into a football team. Just activity that gets me out of the chair and more mobile.
Perhaps one day, when you are ready, you will join in? Meantime keep reading, and post here when you are ready.
I managed it today! I put on my boots and propelled my bum out the door, walked a mile to the village and went shopping in LIDL ( no rolls though!). Really, really pleased with that, it's about a mile. I do move around but not as I want, some days are tough. I've got hip and ligament damage associated with my radiotherapy, and pain can get quite bad. Well, today's a start - thanks for motivation! Also became a grandmother again yesterday evening so it's all good
Hope you get that sorted soon, @Jamrox. I won't suggest swimming, because I know that is not your thing. Lots of sitting exercises you can do though. Or even lying down stretching Pilates.Congratulations ladybird64 good news all round .Hope all is well .
Pipp you motivate me , remember one of our group used to do ups and downs, walking up and down the stairs during the adverts because they were recovering too. We are quite a resourceful bunch.
I've been to Northumberland for the weekend and walked about a bit . Problem is I hurt my knee on Friday, no idea what I've done but it's sore when I weightbear or walk. I'm taking brufen and paracetamol and if it's no better I'll go to Drs in the morning.
I'm a bit worried because the activity I do helps to keep BS under control .
I'm still in my bed but just about to get up . Hopefully it won't be to bad this morning.
We can only do our best, and that's usually enough in the long run.I'm a bit worried because the activity I do helps to keep BS under control .

Thank you for your support ladies. I'm just back from an accidental 5 mil hike - I can hardly move! Went with daughter for what was meant to be a half mile but kept walking..until we hit a B road with no pavement and had to walk all the way back! Boots with medium heels aren't great for cliff top walks in the dark but at least I made it - rather proud today
Welcome to the world of activity ... You will be hooked before you know it X
Well, I have my driving lesson tomorrow so maybe just a short walk (10 mins or so) beforehand - although I'm joking about it, I do need to be careful not to overdo things or I really pay the price for it @Pipp . I have the dentist on Weds, that's in the village so I may stick a couple plasters on and try the mile walk again. Wish me luck lol
