Winter Keepy Uppies Type 2.

A frenzied dash around with the vacuum cleaner and mop and duster is all the activity I am able to muster today. About 45 minutes. A rehearsal for the spring clean I plan soon so that when spring weather does arrive I will have a spotless home, and lots of time to get outdoors.

Ah, just woke up...but perhaps not a bad plan.

Haha Pipp you always make me laugh

I would so love to join in with this:(. I want to try and improve fitness, get more energy but motivation is seriously lacking at the moment, body won't behave as I want it to and it depresses me...got the hump. I do enjoy reading about what everyone gets up to though:)

I know that feeling, @ladybird64 , and I am sorry you are feeling it.

All is not lost though. The fact that you are looking in suggests there is some motivation lurking there.
When @Jamrox first started these challenges, almost two years ago, I think, I was trying to recover from serious illness, and had been unable to do much for myself for months. Toe by toe I started to get moving a bit. Nothing much more some days than tapping my feet, or raising my arms a bit. What the wonderful people providing the encouragement here did for me was to make me realise that although I was never going to go fell running, exercise does not have to mean endurance sport or getting into a football team. Just activity that gets me out of the chair and more mobile.
Perhaps one day, when you are ready, you will join in? Meantime keep reading, and post here when you are ready.

Today I got out in the garden with a rake and broom to do some tidying. 30 minutes later rain stopped play.
So, inside cleaning windows, bathroom and cooker, kept me busy for another hour and 20 mins. I am going to treat myself to a long soak in the bath with book to read.

I managed it today! I put on my boots and propelled my bum out the door, walked a mile to the village and went shopping in LIDL ( no rolls though!). Really, really pleased with that, it's about a mile. I do move around but not as I want, some days are tough. I've got hip and ligament damage associated with my radiotherapy, and pain can get quite bad. Well, today's a start - thanks for motivation! Also became a grandmother again yesterday evening so it's all good:)

Hurrah, congratulations on both walk and grandchild.
Nanas are tough. You made a start. Well done!

Congratulations ladybird64 good news all round .Hope all is well .

Pipp you motivate me , remember one of our group used to do ups and downs, walking up and down the stairs during the adverts because they were recovering too. We are quite a resourceful bunch.
I've been to Northumberland for the weekend and walked about a bit . Problem is I hurt my knee on Friday, no idea what I've done but it's sore when I weightbear or walk. I'm taking brufen and paracetamol and if it's no better I'll go to Drs in the morning.
I'm a bit worried because the activity I do helps to keep BS under control .
I'm still in my bed but just about to get up . Hopefully it won't be to bad this morning.

Hope you get that sorted soon, @Jamrox. I won't suggest swimming, because I know that is not your thing. Lots of sitting exercises you can do though. Or even lying down stretching Pilates.

Thank you for your support ladies. I'm just back from an accidental 5 mil hike - I can hardly move! Went with daughter for what was meant to be a half mile but kept walking..until we hit a B road with no pavement and had to walk all the way back! Boots with medium heels aren't great for cliff top walks in the dark but at least I made it - rather proud today:D

We can only do our best, and that's usually enough in the long run.
Spent the day deep cleaning the little bathroom in the new place. It feels more inviting with a few doses of bleach and sugar soap between me and the previous owner. Tomorrow, some paint on the walls.

Welcome to the world of activity ... You will be hooked before you know it X

Wish I like swimming Pipp , it always looks good but I just make a mess of it

Maybe something a bit more gentle tomorrow, @ladybird64 ?

I did a bit of a mud hopping walk today for 25 mins. Later a bit of weight lifting. I know that seems impressive, but it was arm lifts holding a pint of milk in each hand.

Well, I have my driving lesson tomorrow so maybe just a short walk (10 mins or so) beforehand - although I'm joking about it, I do need to be careful not to overdo things or I really pay the price for it @Pipp . I have the dentist on Weds, that's in the village so I may stick a couple plasters on and try the mile walk again. Wish me luck lol

Yes, don't overdo things.
I find that setting the goal too high results in failure. To begin with, small achievable targets. Oh, and I always take note of what my body is telling me. Certainly isn't the 'no pain no gain mantra' .

Of course I wish you luck. :D

It stopped raining! The sky was blue. Outdoors quick. I cleared fallen branches and twigs. I raked leaves. I even hung washing out. I walked around a bit. I saw the first snowdrops in bloom, and the daffodils doing their best to catch up. It felt a bit like spring. It made me wonder if we have met the challenge set by jamrox, and to wonder what she will come up with next.
Then I sat with a cup of coffee, and reflected on the progress I have made since first starting to make the effort to move more. It has been good.

Hello. 40 minutes swimming today. Everyone seems to be doing well. Brilliant:)
