In the winter time both my thyroid level and vitaminD levels "bomb" downwards .
GP checks for this via blood test .

I need to increase my thyroxine meds and have to take calcichew D3 Forte .
GP tests me in late oct or early nov and then again end of january or febuary to check
my levels .
Each year both have had to be titrated up in dosage .

I "do" tend to NEED sleep "more" during the winter season .
Feeling more groggy in the mornings and thus taking longer to get going energywise .
I certainly do feel the benefits of more sunlight and daylight hours .

It makes the diabetes weariness harder a journey in the winter season I have found .

Wonder if others have experienced this ?

There are some people that can get very low and even depressed without the sunlight/daylight .
Have heard about the light boxes can be a way to supplement loss of sunlight/daylight with these persons .
It has been reported as being successful with some too ...

Maybe you could look into this ?
If you feel it could or would help ?

Luckily - I dont get low or depressed just knackered !
Its more a lack of energy and lack of zest of energy with me .

Filling in forms! ;)
Yes, I have problems with SAD. I've tried a Light Pod which didn't help, however taking a VitD supplement does. My energy levels are better and I'm not falling asleep at every opportunity. I also spend as much time as possible out of doors during daylight hours. It takes a bit of effort but I'm coping better this winter than in previous years.
