Hi Ally

Actually my fasting levels have been up a bit the last few days, I wonder if it's my liver thinking I need more energy to stave off the cold? Otherwise this is my first T2 winter so it's new to me!

Hi @ally1 I find them a little higher when it's very cold. Last summer there were lots of people here saying their levels were raised during the hot weather too.

Roll on Spring! :)

I am same my figures have gone up slightly as I see less and less of figures in 4's. Mostly it's either 5 or sometimes 6 but definitely pushed up a bit. I was in italy few months ago in temperatures of about 32 and they used to be 5's even after high to very high carb meals.

Same here I am just about managing to get mine under 8,but I have had a chest infection and on loads of lemsips.
Oh well at least I am trying maybe I should try harder lol.

I'm type 1 and find I need slightly more insulin in the winter months than I do in the summer.

I find that I'm higher in winter too and then lower in summer with the hot weather!x

i,m glad i.m not the only one getting higher results.
this is my first winter as type 2

Many of us saw higher readings during the hot weather.

Maybe winter higher readings are related to reluctance to eat salads or cold foods and the perceived need to eat hot food with more volume (and extra carbs?)

My theory is that if we are too hot or too cold, your bodies are working hard trying to get back to normal. It puts our systems under stress and we know what stress does. Pain, infection, grief - they can all knock our levels out of whack.
