After two months of planning and preparation, the first meeting of Cumnock Area Diabetes Support will be held this evening. Guests to include staff from diabetes UK Glasgow office and local councillors. Everyone who wants to and lives close enough is invited to attend. Happy World Diabetes Day.

Hi,mercury

Best of luck tonight,

I am a wee bit to far away to attend as I live down in Northamptonshire.

All the best'

Roy,

Good luck Mercury and hope all goes well, report back tomorrow on how the meeting went

Good luck mercury,I hope its a great day RRB

Last nights meeting wasn't the biggest success we hoped for. it was a very low turn out. But we all have to start somewhere. Going to try some extra marketing for next month. I don't give up easily.

Get a striking poster for GP surgeries, newsagents & pharmacies.

Sorry to hear of the poor turnout, but good on you for not giving up

Good luck and best wishes RRB

What was the meeting format? Were there helpful contributions from the guests?

Hello mercury.

Try getting permission to advertise in local hospital and clinics .
Especially the eye and foot clinics .

My own local support group got permission to do this.

Most of their regular monthly meetings are at full capacity resulting
from this type of marketing and advertising .
I myself saw the leaflet of the monthly meetings in my eye clinic !
Its all diabetes related ...
Ask at all health and GP centres locally too .
Another idea  for you.

Please dont give up - as with all things we all start off small
to grow bigger gradually and eventually.
Remember the little acorn and the oak tree
