..... about exercise.
I have been trying to maintain a regime which I hope will assist in reducing my bloods out of prediabetic and into 'normal' range.
As a result of my neglecting exercise I have found it difficult to re-engage with it. I am focused on weights presently (at home, no gym) as running/jogging is out due to a couple of accidents some years ago.
So, how much to do and of what type?

All exercise can be good for you.
The best exercise for you is the one you enjoy and are likely to continue.
In the long run exercise will reduce BG. However, short sharp exercises such as HIIT or weights are likely to raise BG whilst doing them whereas longer exercises such as cycling or walking can reduce BG during the exercise.

But how much and what is down to what you enjoy.

The best exercise is what suits you at the time and it should be something that you enjoy. Any movement is good movement that's what I think. I have learnt this over time and switch my exercise routine to suit the kind of day I am having, which is normally hectic! I find yoga helps me de stress so I tend to do this after my work outs. I also think it helps my mental health which is a bit of a mind field at the best of times. I do struggle with motivation, but there's a really good thread on here that helps especially on the "I cannot be bothered days". I do it all at home, from the garage with some very strange looks from the postman at times! I really have to be disciplined and aim for 3 to 4 days a week, with a day or maybe two of rest to recover if I am sore! But I do find the more I exercise the more I want. I have a spin bike, a treadmill and I have recently started using heavier weights. I have in the past used the local swimming pool also as its non impact and you can swim at your own pace. Walking is also good if you can get to do it. I have a mini trampoline and I also acquired a skipping rope with counter which takes me back to my youth! Its whatever is right for you. Check out the thread, it really helps me x
