can anyone help, I have been diagnosed type 2 diabetes five years ago and I've managed to control it with medication and diet. Having started a new job I'm expected to work away from home and I'm a little bit worried about how to keep eating healthy when I'm in a b & b with no access to a kitchen and don't have to rely on pub food and take away. Anyone have any diet plans for this sort of situation. Thanks

Alright pal congratulations on the new job.

Don't worry to much about it you just have to make sensible choices. Yeah it's more difficult mentally because there is now temptation thrown your way. You don't have temptation at home if you remove it from the house.

I work offshore on the oil rigs sometimes on land sometimes at sea. Currently just come back from Saudi. The food choice is limited but you just have to make the educated choice and it sounds like you been doing great for the last 5 years so you will find that you should just fit into this nicely.

I don't have a plan as such but think about it this way your only change really is your not cooking it yourself! Just have your steak with no sauce, like you probably did at home... I always find somewhere that's nice for steak or chicken, have it plain or with herbs/spices and ask for 2 sides of veg, like broccoli or similar, look out for what veg have a high carb content like carrots and potatoes and try and avoid...

Hope this helps

Again congratulations and good luck in the new job and food!!!
