I added multivitamins to compensate. Blood tests show no concerns with lacking anything. Calcium was good but still showed a thyroid problem even on the correct thyroxine. These blood tests were vlc and no metformin. Liver enzymes excellent too.Could be the possible lack of pottasium and magnesium in an vlchf diet , if one had not taken that in consideration , or too much pottassium or other kind of diet induced unbalance in nutritions ... just guessing here or maybe the lack of salt which some say one need in added higher amounts on a vlchf diet as the low carbing foods tends to have lesser salt in them ( non processed foods ) and that carbs do hold water in ones cells which flushes out when we change our eating style to low carbing and in that flushing also a lot of Minerals/electrolytes

Liver enzymes have crept up with meds and increased carbs (xmas) in my new batch of blood tests but cholesterol still the same, good.
My blood pressure problem became worse on vlc. I'm looking into it.
Salt may be the answer!
HiCredible?.. did you see his job title.. this could be a huge step forward..
and yes people do loose weight on a calorie restricted diet .. but it's just not sustainable in the long term and the weight tends to creep back over time.. I think most of us have done it and found that out and maybe messed with our metabolisms in the meantime.
Hi
Buy pork belly futures, panic-buy Lidl rolls, get ready for the sugar mountain fiasco!
That seems a bit...conspiratorialOr alternatively....how long will it be before he is forced to 'step down' from the presidency and more 'science' is produced to prove him wrong?
IMO there's too much money invloved for this to be plain sailing. I hope I'm wrong
If you look at the video at about 1min20, there is a chart showing "increased risk of CVD with micronutrients", showing the carbohydrate section. He explains it pretty well, I think. Thanks that was a very interesting presentation but where was it that he mentions your quote that "carbs were harmful"?
I heard him say that when carbs were eaten in excess 55% of diet that there was a steep increase in cardio vascular disease (2.14 minutes) and I also heard him say that too much just as too little of anything is not good for us (13.33 minutes) but no where did I hear him say that "carbs were harmful".
Isnt it repetition of half truths like this that lead people to believe that they should avoid eating fat when no one ever said that either.
Yes, I think that's what I got from it, fats are not bad, carbs are bad, fruit and veg are OK (for the population as a whole). At least that's my simplistic summing up.
This is real news, nothing fake about it (unless you are Donald Trump). There is a clear rise in CVD with increased carbs. The get-well plate recommends about 60% carbs. Why defend this nonsense?@kokhongw & @BrianTheElder CHO over 50% of cal is harmfull is NOT the same as "carbs are harmful". What it means is too many carbs are harmful...Just as too much protein or fat is harmful too.
Fake news
The title of the linked article is fake. He's not saying "carbs are harmful". He's saying that too many carbs are harmful. Sensationalism in titles is standard practice to draw attention, but that doesn't make it any less misleading. And it makes the source look untrustworthy, if they're willing to exaggerate. This is real news, nothing fake about it.

Just as hyperbole is harmful, so is defending entrenched non-facts.

Hi SidPlease show me where I have defended that 60% of cals be carbs? Ive never ever said that and after 8 years of non diabetic bg levels I still eat a low carb diet, I just get upset when facts are distorted to make a point that was not intended.
Advertising with a fake title undermines the credibility of the real message, which risks harming the low-carb cause more than it helps.I still maintain that this could be a huge step forward so to see you dismissing it as "fake news" because you don't like the title especially when you follow a low carb diet yourself is a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face surely?
