World Heart Federation President " Increase in Carbohydrate intake increases risk of CVD"

Yes, as I've said I suffer from anxiety, It isn't a lot of fun, but there it is

I didn't start a separate thread because a) it seemed productive to keep this thread going and asking about the specifics of different types of fat was on topic and b) i don't want to flood the forum with new threads every five minutes, because it just upsets people. I'm not trying to be awkward, I'm just asking honestly

Which is why I suggested talking to your counsellor - not for dietary advice obviously, but for advice about the best way to think about food choices, etc.

I think it might help you deal with your concerns in a way that would minimise your anxieties as much as possible.

well let's just leave it for this thread. It wasn't my intention to derail things. I do think the questions about mono/poly/omega are relevant though. We all know the net is notorious for misinformation, even though there are lovely helpful people here and there

Watched this again so my none diabetic partner could watch it too.
He's delighted he can continue adding salt to his food as a non hypertensive sufferer.
I'm delighted I don't have to go very very low salt, very impractical for my household.

try this link
it keeps getting removed form youtube but then re-appears.. very dodgy

Thank you so much, Mark.

What I take from this is, we've been fooled for over 50 years. The poor advice based on Ancel Key's very poor cherry-picked Seven Countries Study has been rolled out worldwide and we've been a 50 year study. Yay, us. Fat, diabetic, IBS, us.

There is no danger in eating saturated fats; in fact, unsats and monfats are worse. All this time, sugar and refined carbs were the culprit. It seems so obvious, in retrospect, but we trusted those buggers who we thought knew better.
