A diagnosis of type 1 is based on much more than just high BG.
Semolina and rice are both very high carb food. So that's where your high levels have come from. Also the fact that you've not been taking Metformin. You really shouldn't be running out of medication.
Rice always takes a while to effect my BG. Sometimes it doesn't creep up on me until the following day.
If it continues to be high, am I type1?

Yes your food caused these high bgs. For sure.Hi
I usually have 6 or 7 , 2 hours after my dinner. But tonight I went to a restaurant with my family and couldn't control myself and as a result, I had an South Indian dosa (made of rice and semolina) . I checked on the net before eating which says 17g per one dosa.
But to my surprise when I checked 2 hours after food, it came out 9.6. Then thought it might have dropped down to normal level 3hours after food, but to my surprise I tested three times and each time it came different.
1st time: 10.6
2nd time:11.2
3rd time: 10.2
It's very high for me for type2, never gone up to that level.
My medicine metaformin is also finished and I m not taking as need prescription to get from pharmacy. Also I usually walk 4 to 5 kms, but today I didn't walk much.
I will check tomorrow morning to see if it is high or not.
I m worried and wondering if the food contributed much than exercise. I m not counting medicine as yesterday I didn't have medicine but bg was 6.2.
If it continues to be high, am I type1? I m trying to understand diabetes, but the more I dig , the more I get worried.
Regards
Is Metformin your only diabetes medicine? If it is then you must understand that it does not have a big impact in lowering your blood glucose. I would put your high bg response down to experience and refrain from having that meal again (or at least refrain until or if your response to carbs improves).
Your bg should continue to fall over the next few hours. All this is dependant on whether, like I said, Metformin is your only drug for Diabetes.
Yes carbs can give delayed bgs, especially when those carbs are mixed with high levels of fat. Fat slows down your digestion.I did a big mistake by eating that, I m repenting why I did this foolishness.
So do you mean rice takes more time and as a result the bg goes up. So does it mean if I measure 5 hours after food it could even go more than 10?
What was inside the dosa? potato?Ya true. But yesterday I didn't take medicine, but my BG was 6 after food. So I ruled out medicine. But what surprises me is my 3hrs after food bg level is even higher than my 2 hours after food level, don't understand why? Any idea?
What was inside the dosa? potato?
OK can't have been that then..No potatoes. Only plain dosa, but very big in size.
You may get a delayed high fbg tomorrow where your liver dumps all that extra glucose made from the carbs. Or you may be lucky and your body may have processed it fully by now.
Let's see.
A fatty protein before bed can act as a liver block to higher fbgs.
Really the best defense is avoiding those nuisance carbs instead.
At anytime your body thinks your fasting. Most commonly through the night. Its called a liver dump.I checked this morning and it was 5.8. Do you mean I may get high bg again today at some point because of yesterday's food?

Everybody's processing time varies so you may have done this already yesterday when ate less to compensate for big meal or it waits til your low on food being processed now.
It becomes a vicious circle if a none sufficient insulin taking diabetic constantly eats a high carb diet.
With you being a none insulin taking diabetic its advised to keep those high carb meals as a very rare occasion, if at all.
Please check in and let me know if you experience a higher fasting bg in the morning. Please.
