My partner is type 1 she is her ideal weight yet she is on very high levels of novorapid and levemir, her blood sugars are never normally below 15.0 and she often has ketones. She has recently started injecting into her bottom as she now has lumps in her belly where she used to inject, this has not made any difference to her sugar levels. Her diet isn't the best and she loves her chocolate, crisps, cakes etc but she does try hard not to have them all the time, its just very frustrating for her and for me as it seems that no matter what she does her sugar levels are always high. The other morning she woke up all sweaty and was very shakey when checking her levels they were 4.2 this has never happened before, she has been on antibotics for a chest infection and at first we thought it was the tablets so she stopped taking them as instructed by her GP but it happened again this time her levels were 2.7 this is really worrying both of us. Has anyone else experienced this? Can someone explain whats happening? GP & Hopsital don't seem to be helping - does anyone know a good NHS Diabetic Centre in london that we can attend and get her diabeties under control once and for all and put both our minds at rest. HELP.....!!!!!
