I have been T2 for just over 2 years. My levels have been well managed and have been on 3 x 850mg of Mets and 60mg glicazide per day. Diet has been OK and weight steady. Everything was OK until mid Feb when sugar level have crept up. I have been cutting back even more on carbs, and of course sugar, but levels still rising. Today on 29! Going to doctors Friday. Don't feel well - tired, thirsty, urinating a lot, tingly fingers, aching, hard to concentrate. Does this mean I'm heading towards insulin dependency?

At 29mmol/l, I'd be testing for ketones and taking a trip to A&E!
Never even heard of ketones! Just googled it and sounds like someone should have told me about this sooner. Apparently type 2's aren't supposed to be affected. I called my doctor and she is meant to be calling me later this afternoon.
