Hello all. Rumour has it that the new Apple 7 watch (no date as yet) will have a glucose monitor. Obviously this has peaked my interest but I wonder if any of you have heard anything. Is it even true and how would it work? Curious type 2.

There is a lot of work going on in terms of non-invasive glucose monitoring. (check this out)

Some (like PK-Vitality) are planning to use micro-needles, (personally I can't see how this won't irritate the back of your wrist like crazy but anyway) others appear to be using light spectroscopy. Basically, once you know how a substance (glucose) affects the wavelength of light you can scan a surface for the presence of that substance.

Samsung appear to be following Apple with a glucose monitoring smart watch of their own and there were rumours it would feature on the Galaxy Watch 4 but many reports suggest it's now being launched without this feature.

I’m totally ready for the cyborg implants.
