Would you want to go back to eating the way you used to?

Today is just a day when I wish I was normal not having to test before eating etc....

I'd love to be able to have pie'n'mash and liquor again but I dread to think how many carbs are in it!

God that pie and mash looks good.... normally I am not so fussed about eating normally but today I have a cold and long for some good old comfort food... would love toast and peanut butter, or pie and mash or chips...still this will pass

Would I go back? F@@k yes!!!

I want to climb into a bath full of profiteroles and eat my way out!!

Oh yes, i'd go back like a shot and enjoy every mouthful. Mountains of spuds and bread and cakes and pasta and all the other stuff that's yummy and poisonous now

I've just found this thread and would like to share my experience today. I've never been a MacDonalds fan, but today out of sheer desperation I bought a burger and a vanilla shake - the vanilla shakes were the only thing I've ever liked from there, and always thought it was the least sweet tasting option. The burger was vile, but I wasn't expecting anything much anyway and just needed a stomach filler. I was looking forward to the vanilla shake, but you know what? It was not how I remember it. It was very sweet and tasted like plastic. I have also suffered fallout for this sweet and carb filled lunch, as I have had terrible chocolate cravings, and ended up stuffing myself with chocs this evening. I now feel quite sick, so I don't think I would like to go back to the way things were. It's not as tasty as you remember folks

Awww, shame. I agree things I used to like seem dreadful now. A sip of any sweet drink or syrup is so cloying. I would guess .
Hope you feel better soon.

I wish the pharmaceutical companies could just give us a 3x pill per day to compensate for measuring food. I find measuring carbs, and cals, etc. to be a real pain. I would rather take pills and not eat at all. That might be more accurate. The old days are gone now, unless you don't mind the risks of hypers and hypos.

Oh you bad man, East London lad myself, spent many many happy hours in Manzies pushing it in, pump it full of pepper and vinger and go to town!

I sure do miss it, but I would never go back to feeling like **** 24hrs a day.

You know what helps me be strong, knowing that if I really wanted, I could eat it, it's still a choice, at the detriment of my own health of course. This simple psychology allows me to skip it, everyday everyway.

My main temptation is high fat foods I know won't cause any major disruption to my BS levels -- Scotch Pies or Marks & Spencer Melt in the Middle Scotch Eggs.

Major temptation is however on the horizon as I will soon be holidaying by Lake Garda and the ice cream desserts of the Caffe Grande Italia in Sirmione are out of this world.

My favorite place! I think you can allow yourself an ice cream as a treat....
