No need for the apology pollyr. I was just having a laugh. :) You sound like you have been through a lot of the same things I have. I know only too well how painful pancreatitis and gallbladder problems are and send you big hugs and best wishes. If you would like to know a bit about my history and what has led up to me being diagnosed feel free to take a look: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/hello-recently-diagnosed-likely-reasons-relieved-i-now-know-my-history-and-a-warning.106342/ My HBa1c at diagnosis was 85. Or it could have been 95. I cant remember but it was definitely one or the other. With me not having any experience with oral diabetic medication I cannot comment as much as I would like to about them and how they affect your pancreas. With my situation as it has been... 13 holidays to hospital and chronic pancreatitis the specialists put me straight on to injections. Lantus Solo (basel) and NovaRapid (bolus) because my pancreas has a hard enough time as it is without throwing oral medication at it. They said that they usually put type 3c's in my position on injections rather than tablets. I am not implying that you do but I personally do not have a problem with injecting insulin and have taken to it like a duck to water. :)
