soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
Xylitol is Toxic to dogs. If you have a dog and use xylitol, make sure that you keep them safely apart. Remember that even a well behaved dog may raid a handbag . so don't have xylitol in your bag and leave it on the floor. Watch out for visiting canines too.

Good point Hana. And in humans Xylitol is also a very effective laxative, even in small doses.

If you are not sure whether your particular sweetener contains xylitol, look at the contents on the pack The "E" number for xylitol is E967.

We learned a costly lesson on handbag raiding. My daughter's Jack Russell pinched a pack of Ibuprofen from her handbag and necessitated an overnight stay at the vet's on a drip.

But did the handbag survive?

Our neighbours have Jack Russells. They selflessly defend their owners from the vacuum cleaner, the lawnmower and even the strimmer unless carefully confined.

My daughter has 2 Jack russells. litter brothers. One is everything you've ever heard about Jack russells and the other is a Wuss. They are very helpful in cleaning up after granddaughter's meals. No they didn't demolish the handbag. In fact a few days after the "drama" my daughter moved a sofa and discovered a disgusting patch of dried vomit. ( How he got there to do it, we don't know) and most of the Ibuprofen was in it.
