Yay! latest A1c result...

.... is 4.9

Looks like the better weather and the more opportunities for exercise it brings have helped get back below 5 again.

That's over three years now since DX and A1c bounces between 4.7 and 5.3, averaging 5.0 with no sign of any upward trend...

I've put on a few pounds over winter and a rather cruddy spring, so time to get that sorted out next.

There are those that insist that type 2 diabetes is *always, ALWAYS* progressive - perhaps they are correct (but I don't think they always are) but if so, such progression can be immeasurably slow.

This time around, they were identical - don't think I've seen them more than 0.2% adrift, on the occasions where I've been able to compare within a day or two.

They seem to have fallen in price a bit in the US, now the availability is wider - Walmart, Walgreen and Target now sell them. If Walmarts bulk discount arm Sam's Club gets in on the act, I suspect they'll be cheaper still.

I've not seen any of the 10 test versions yet though.

One thing though, I've become less and less convinced of the 'three months' nature of an A1c - I think the oldest month makes only a tiny contribution to the value, I think of A1c more as a two month average.
