I followed a healthy diet for over a decade and it was killing me!
when you have a predisposition for diabetes and familial ties with diabetes, you could be destined to become diabetic.
However, you could always find knowledge on how to arrest the slide into it.
That knowledge is on this site.
Diet and diabetes are something that confused so many people.
Because what the textbooks tell doctors, dsns and dieticians, is that it gets worse from now on!
But it doesn't, you see, you just have to find the right balance of foods for you. Designed by you for you.
you see, not everything they advise, is basically not really healthy for prediabetics, who want to be healthier.
They obsess about calories, about healthy carbs, about healthy eating, living lifestyle.
But until you actually know why you are getting prediabetic hba1c levels, your going to be wondering what to do.
I have had huge success, as many have on here by reducing their carb intake, increasing protein, using natural fats. Keeping a food diary, using a glucometer or cgm, to track which foods spike you. Spikes over time constantly will have a bearing on your blood glucose levels. Control over your blood glucose levels is a big part of getting your hba1c levels down into normal levels again.
Be careful of starchy vegetables, rice, pasta, grains, breads, cereals.
Exercise is important, and with a lower carb diet, you may experience weight loss, depending on how your approach to the dietary regime change effects you.
Keep asking.
Best wishes
