Hi everyone.

We are looking for contributors to be part of a feature on BBC Radio 1Extra to share their experience of what it’s like to be a BAME (Black, Asian and Minority's Ethnic) young person in the UK living with type 1 diabetes. If you would like to know more please email forum@diabetes.co.uk and we will pass your details to our media team who will contact you in complete confidence with more information.

@DCUKMod Does the acronym BAME mean Black And Middle Eastern, the reason I ask is I cannot find anything on Google that is different?

I have never heard of the expression before either...

Tipetoo - BAME is a term long used in the UK to refer to black, Asian and minority ethnic people.
 
Me neither and I am in UK. Must get out more
 
I'm pleased to say there has been some response to this, but the opportunity remains open for others.
 
Let’s just reflect for a moment - perhaps if those saying they had never heard it were in that target demographic it would make sense....
