We tried these last night and they are really yummy....
A really good alternative to traditional mince pies even for those who aren't diabetic.

ingreds...
175g flour
1.5tsp cinnamon
100g butter
140g dried apricots
85g dried figs
100g toasted hazelnuts
1tsp each nutmeg and mixed spice
grated zest and juice from ornage
1 banana
optional brandy

to make...
-put flour, 1tsp cinnamon in bowl and mix to fine bread crumbs with butter.
-add a bit of cold water to bind into a dough, set aside until filling is made
-switch oven on to 170degrees gas 5
-put cinnamon, apricots, figs, hazelnuts, orange zest and juice, banana and spices into blender to chop.
-roll out pastry and cut into circles for small tarts.
-add filling to pastry and place in oven for 20minutes.

-then cover in cream or custard and sing jingle bells while eating by the fire!!!

Looks ymmy!, but you've left us to work out carbs for ourselves

Hmmm, looks like a trip to the supermarket is in order! Brilliant timing as well, i'm going to my mum's tomorrow to put her decorations up. I'm sure she would like to do some testing with me yummmmm!

It is a good recipe. My husbands blood sugar usually goes high and uncontrolable with traditional pastry (butter, lard and flour) no idea why but he won't eat it at all. So I don't generally buy or make it, and I know he misses it. But this pastry hasn't had any nasty effects at all.

I'm going to try steak and kidney pie tonight with this lovely pastry!!!
