If you could show me where your post has been deleted then I may be able to tell you why.
is it usual for type 2 to test own bloods? this is my 5th week, not testing my nurse said there will be plenty of time for that later on

Hi Chris Why don't you post your question on the forum for all to see and answer? The NHS like to say you do not need to test and that allows them to save money. However if you do not test how do you know whether you are eating the correct foods.

    Hi Chris
So if you are using the web site (not the phone app) then click on Forums at the top and you get a list of all the forums. Now lets assume you want to ask your question on the Diabetes Discussion forum. Click it and you get a list of topics. At the top right there is a post new thread button. Click that and enter your thread topic. Then post the thread.
how likely are those with type 2 diabetes to develop type 1 diabetes please?

Type 2 is genetic whereas Type 1 is autoimmune so the risk of T1 when you are T2 is just the same as catching T1 when you are normal.

By T1 do you mean T2 on insulin?

no, not type 2 with insulin, i mean type 1 as opposed to type 2

Not too bad Chris, but I am so glad that I got a meter. Unless you know what your levels are each day, you cannot control them properly. I have gone from a high of 14 to 5/6 in 6 weeks and I would not have known if it wasn't for my meter. I am good most of the time now but have a weekly treat and it is working so far :)

Chris I would ignore your Doctor as you can control your symptoms when you have a meter. If you do not get one your bloods will stay high and you will just be given higher dosage of tablets. Cost is why Doctors say no meter. Did you get free prescription before diagnosis ? Get control with a meter and your shakes and headaches should stop xx
trying to get used to buying low sugar foods then someone told me it's more about carbs? this is my 3rd week since being diagnosed
