I had to see the phlebotomist for my blood test prior to my annual diabetic review in a fortnight. When she looked on the screen she said that the gp had tested for this three weeks ago- never told me - and it had gone up slightly to 53. Last year it was 7.2, so how can I work out the rise...

    Glicazide

My gp has put me on 80mg glicazide a day to reduce my numbers. However, when looking it up I can't find it mentioned in any of my books, Bernstein mentions gliperamide, is this the same. Also as it encourages insulin production will it make me put on weight? Thanks in advance Jane

    hospital admission for op.

Hi, wonder if anyone can give me some help here. I am due for some surgery at the end of November and tomorrow am going for the pre-op assessment and wondered what I should ask about their care of me whilst I'm in their hands (bit scary that). I am low carb and testing my bg several times a...

So I went to see the NHS Dietician and ........

all my good intentions to stick to my low carb guns flew out the window. She did not look a happy bunny to start with (and was stick thin too) and when I said I was low carbing she nearly bit my head off asking ' who advised you to stop eating carbohydrates'. I sort of stuttered about the net...

I've probably posted in the wrong place but can anyone tell me what to use to make gravy. The weather is miz today and I was thinking of stews and casseroles and then realised that with no flour or squidged up potato, they wouldn't be nice and thick and comforting. :( Is Bisto powder or...
