Having just completed my morning walk, I have just climbed back into bed to wait for everyone else to wake up as well.
There was a real autumnal feel about this morning, fallen yellowing wisteria leaves contrasting sharply with the terra-cotta tiling,
greeted me as soon as I stepped out onto the back patio.
The color palette was almost repeated in some old Christmas decorations, discarded by a neighbor, that caught my lens's attention.
As I usually do on Sunday mornings, I headed for the nearby monastery but not before stopping along the way to photograph colorful floral displays arranged on the ground by last night's rain,
Of course not all flowers were lying on the floor some plants were still holding on to some pretty spectacular displays of their own
In fact, some plants did not even need flowers to attract my attention
In keeping with this morning's autumnal mood, most of my walk was under a very fine drizzle, the kind that seems to hang and drift in the air and that always reminds me of walking across the Downs during my University years in Bristol.
The sober Byzantine chanting of the morning mass at the monastery fitted the mood of the morning so perfectly that I actually stopped to enjoy it. I can not say that I am a great fun normally.
Eventually I had to cut my walk short as the rain picked up in intensity but not before covering almost 7 km.
