Hi,
I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetes in 2002 aged 28.
My fasting readings in the morning are never below 10 normally between 10 & 12mmol. (Hbac 8)
It doesn't seem to matter what I eat (except pure sugar). I have almost removed all carbs from my diet eating protein & good fats.
The only carbs are normally in the form of tomatoes. (Over a year of this diet)
I have been injecting Humaog 50/50 in the evening & 25/75 in the mornings.
I am struggling to continue exercise because my muscle mass keeps getting bigger & bigger. ( We are talking hulk here)
I don't seem to lose much weight due to this muscle conversion & to be quite honest am getting fed up after all these years.
If I lose weight I put it straight back on by looking at chocolate.
I was tried on Jardiance which worked well but this makes me have a thirst that cannot be quenched & dehydration that sticks my mouth shut. ( A bonus according to my wife) I was drinking over 8 litres of water a day.
I believe my diabetes was triggered by drinking alcohol in excessive amounts as a young man.
Can anyone please point me in the direction of hope as I feel like I am diabetes & not me anymore.
Regards Tony
