Lisinopril and Blood Glucose Levels

Hi Folks,

I have recently been prescribed Lisinopril for Hypertension (Secondary) and I wondered whether anyone else has had issues with blood glucose levels plummeting? I am well aware that with Levemir and Novorapid, both of which I am on, are affected by this medication, in terms of increased uptake, but I have been on this for about 8 weeks now, and it's only just started to become a problem...

I am titrating my long acting down, according for DAFNE guidelines, but it seems to be requiring a massive reduction in all of my insulins...

Any tips or hints would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Blackpoolnurse.

If it's causing you problems then go back to your Dr's and they will change your medication, I was prescribed a drug called Ramipril after developing retinopathy and I've never noticed it effecting bg levels or had any other side-effects from taking the drug, there's numerous bp drugs they could change you to that might be less problematic.
