This is fantastic progression. I have a couple of questions though. I am assuming you would always have to have this device inside you (or wear one like a pump)? I initially thought these cells would be transplanted via injection or surgery.
Also would this device contain enough insulin to last a lifetime or would it need to be replaced? I believe the amount of insulin a non diabetic naturally produces over a lifetime is microscopic and what we inject is actually preservatives etc that gives the insulin mass. Please correct me if anyone knows differently?
