Morning all on what looks but doesn't quite yet feel like a spring morning here in Little America. If the wind doesn't go right through you one requires more layers than a thriving poultry business. I have no idea how Passion Sunday impacted my bg or today's fbg though I analysed everything. JKP cooked the pork and I carved, very much a joint effort. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art. The meet up and birthday video call both sound splendid. @gennepher thanks for sharing the sketch. @Krystyna23040 congratulations to the diary secretary on a job well done. Time fo ar fresh pot of tea, some steps, babybels and meds. Perhaps not living the dream though so much more blessed than many. Unlike Maslow's model God's grace isn't hierarchical nor is it earned - wouldn't be grace otherwise. Have a cheery ditty and at least a decent day.
For once the diary secretary got it right @ianpspurs. Actually tomorrow and Wednesday are good also.

Just heard a new (to me) word today, @ianpspurs. It is SNOLLYGOSTER. It isn't new really, it was used in US in the 1800's but, it has only recently been added to the OED. It apparently means: a shrewd and unprincipled person, and especially an unprincipled politician. You may know it already, of course, but I thought you would like it.

Thank you Gennepher, you are kind and I must stop complaining. I feel that I can unbutton my lip on this thread and, I suspect, I do it too much. I'm not really as badly done by as many of you, who just keep it to yourselves.
I do have my rants @Annb from time to time, and I know they can be long, and can be when the straw has broken the camel's back. And after I've posted them I can think, should I have kept that to myself....but we all need to say some stuff...

Life can be hard work...

Anyway, hugs for you and I hope you get a better night's sleep.

Had my INR test done at the GP’s surgery today went quite well just a finger prick test a bit more blood required than for a blood glucose test it works out how fast your blood coagulation is and the you get a print out of your doses for the next seven days saves going to the hospital to get it done.

04:00 - 6.9. Not at all bad.

Legs feeling a bit stronger today and I'm managing to hobble around a bit - even managed to make my bed this morning. Just as well since I have an appointment with a solicitor this morning. The building they work in is an old bank so I hope there is reasonable access for my wheelchair - not going to risk trying to make it with sticks. That would just be silly.

Also somebody is interested in buying my space consuming commercial grill which Neil has checked over with his electrical testing gadgets to make sure it's safe. Didn't really expect anyone to want it. He will come to have a look at it this morning before we head out. My step-grand daughter asked if she could have the other, domestic one so that's already gone. 3 piece suite is sitting in the lounge-cum-workshop waiting to be picked up by the charity shop, if they come. Container issue reduced to waiting for a Stornoway company to give a price and date for bringing it here. So things are moving along, albeit slower than I would like. Patience is no longer my strong point, I'm afraid.

I used to have a sign above my desk at the college which said "My patience was legendary, now it's a myth". Just a gentle warning to people not to push their luck too far. I do find myself less patient than I used to be. I remember my mother telling me that being in her 60's she no longer felt that she shouldn't speak her mind or tolerate things she would once have ignored in order to keep the peace. I know now what she meant.

I'm clearly going to have another day of struggle with my BG. Libre alarm went off again to say I was going low - that''s after having a fairly substantial breakfast. Had to have 2 fruit pastilles and a cup of tea to bring it back up again.

Hello good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and those who distrust politicians ov whatever flaviour.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.8, not good as I am way up’t north of Watford and will be driving darn to the soft underbelly ov this fair, green and pleasant land, later this morning.

It’s alway a great pleasure to read all the posts that have a political slant…….and ignore them.
In the words of Lindisfarne “ here I sit in the snack bar supping sickly sausage rolls “ have come to mind, why I know not, my mind has a mind of its own.
Now it is time to go and redo my blood sugars.

Stay safe all, remembering something or other.

Good morning everyone from a deliciously calm start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Quick practice of my Britains Got Talent Screaming Cramp Dance. Always best done when you don’t see it coming. A stab into the crystal ball of frozen points in time suggested that the reading would be 5.3 but don’t count on events micro seconds on either side. Advantage taken of a bright and sunny day yesterday with walks (mainly up and down the indoor heated exercise track of a local supermarket) and some peering out to sea. We can also pier out as well, but not yesterday. An afternoon of entertainment watching Mrs Miggins reenacting a scene from Karate Kid as she applied Cuprinol to some fencing followed later by a film called The Great Escaper with My Cocaine, Glenda Jackson and John Standing - smashing. I don’t know what today will bring, which is exciting in itself. Art bit - a quick sketch - random greys, a bit of ink and a dab of colour. Help yourself to all the good bits wafting through the day. I shall start with some koffy.

Tuesday is local market day.
Wednesday is nearby town market day.
How is it I somehow need to go to both this week.
Kiki is rampaging round the house. Checking all doors and windows while swearing viciously at the flock of sparrows that gathers there. If looks could kill...I will have to escort her outside to prevent murder.

Local markets are the electro magnets of curiosity and there will always be something tantalising that just must be sampled. Some heavy duty armoured gauntlets and a fencing mask may be useful when dealing with a rampaging cat.

Agree.

An ex had a mum whose favourite quote seemed to be aimed at me....lol

"Patience is a virtue,
Possess it if you can,
You'll find it in a woman,
But never in a man"

Morning all from a sullen skied, very much not bright and much too breezy for me Little America. @alf_Josiah I'm sure your bs levels will rise and a safe journey will ensue. @dunelm thanks for the art and hugs for Crampy McCrampface - better hydration needed perhaps? @Annb thanks for the new word which seems a perfect fit for one who can't find a loan just now. How sad :D In exchange have the word Schlocky which, for me, exemplifies where we're at just now as a nation. I hope the solicitors visit goes well, especially access. I love that sign above your desk. @Krystyna23040 you continually find excellent diary secretaries and carelessly let them go - can you keep this one? I have no creatives but here are two keto HC bun recipes if y'all are interested. #1 #2 . Today marks four years since JKP decided we needed 2 dogs again but Bill and Ben are none the wiser so no party needed - they were actually born Jan 1st. As the man said - bears repeating frequently. Drat. Now I've gotten the theme tune as an ear worm for the day and I'm fitting posters here to the cast. Belker is a shoe in :D Pizza Man is much harder.

Good morning from California!
Tuesday morning 4.94 mmol/L 89 mg/dL. Seems like I am back on track. I have another party coming up in a Pakistani restaurant this Sunday. I only go to restaurants two or three times a year.
I eat very low carb and get my proteins mostly from Salmon, egg whites and some from chicken breast. Have a nice day everyone.

Great diet advice and good to see you in this thread as well. As said over in the semi-skimmed thread useful to post both bg values. Take care.

The same thing happens to me @gennepher. .I often misread words. The worst one was looking forward to visiting an exhibition of exotic Japanese art at the British Museum. I had misread exotic for erotic. I very quickly realised my mistake and made a quick exit.

Hopefully I can keep this diary Secretary

Fixed for you :D Here's the cast list of HSB if y'all want to play match the character to a poster:D The first school I taught at was very much like that - let's be careful out there was an essential mantra.
