Hi, I've been advised by a friend that cinnamon tablets can help with blood glucose levels. Have any members heard about this also ? Or indeed take the tablets themselves? Cheers guys x

Hi missBabs i love cinnamon, but as for helping with bs levels , if it did i'd be cured of diabetes long ago,but heyho ......

Cinnamon is known to be a blood thinner, so that may be why it can help. I love it too, but it can sometimes give me bad nose bleeds! I agree with @Clivethedrive though, I'd never have got diabetes in the first place if it worked so well with reducing glucose levels...

The best way to deal with higher glucose levels is probably by diet, so just watch the carbs, and if you want to try cinnamon, why not use it in low carb baking/cooking rather than pay out for expensive tablets?

I don't take the tablets but do sprinkle organic cinnamon powder on my fruit and Greek yogurt don't know if It makes any difference to BG levels though

I am taking Cinnamon Tablets since a few weeks. But honestly I haven't found out if they really improve my levels. But i am still in my Honeymoon phase without Insulin so maybe it really works. :)

There are a number of studies to suggest Cinnamon helps lower BS. My own personal experience is I tried cinnamon for a 5-6 week period in 2012. I noticed no discernible difference in my BS and gave it up, with the exception of adding it to bakes.

I've tried most of the supposed Diabetes 'alternative remedies' except for Bitter melon and have only found Sauerkraut (Fermented cabbage) to lower my BS. I'm currently experimenting with pickled onions at bed time to help FBS.

Hi I have been having cinnamon on my food for a week now, as I heard it lowered BG levels . Whether it does or not I do not know yet but will keep it up anyway, will try anything if it helps no harm done anyway.:)

I took some as tablets to see if they had any effect on my blood sugars; they didn't as far as I could see.
