So I have decided in addition to my low carb lifestyle that the gym needs to happen. So far have managed to get levels down to "normal range" by losing 26kg and upping number of steps but know the rest of the weight - still 36kg to get to goal - will require more exercise! I hate exercise, but I also hated dieting and have done well with that so have decided I can now apply my new found will power to exercise. I intend to go 3 times a week to do something even if it is only walking on the treadmill for 30mins or swimming a few lengths. Will let you all know how I get on - anyone else starting a new exercise regime who wants to be a support buddy let me know!

Likewise will be joining in the new year! Used to walk a lot became lazy and used the weather as an excuse for not going out, gym will take that excuse away

Good luck joining the gym... I joined mine in August. Best advice I have is to experiment with different exercises and find the ones you enjoy, that way it doesn't become too much of a chore. Let us know how you do.

hi I am in the same boat, I have arteritis in both hips still working have to lose weight don't know how but will have a go
the good thing about following a low carb diet is you will still lose weight and lower your BG ,will you be having your hips done?,

I was luck ,had both my hips done when the government where spending money, have you looked into low carbing really made a difference to my life and it costs nothing

now started low carbing, been to see msk consultant today, have to go to the hospital for x-rays to see what damage I have done to my left hip. I had stepped of ladders at work and jarred my hip 3 month ago which could have done some damage so now I am waiting.
