I tried clean eating before but still had carbs such as cous cous n sweet potatoe etc n felt needed little insulin. Has anyone else done low carb lifestyle?? Any thoughts on this?

Hi @Donna1 - yes I have done low carb for about 2 years now and find it quite easy. Great for BG levels.I tried clean eating before but still had carbs such as cous cous n sweet potatoe etc n felt needed little insulin. Has anyone else done low carb lifestyle?? Any thoughts on this?
I am generally in ketosis and on around 20-30 carbs a dayI also low-carb with a daily intake just above 50g of carbs (not in ketosis). What about you?
Nice! I remember that when I was in ketosis, my ketones were once 7.4 and my blood sugar was at 3.9. That was after an evening workout without topping up with carbs.
Yes if your carb intake is low enough you will switch to burning fat for fuel which produces ketones. As Type 1s, we need to ensure we have sufficient insulin (and therefore stable blood sugars) when ketones are present.Does low carbing cause ketones? Not understanding they comments bout ketosis n low carbing soz .
