Winter Keepy Uppies Type 2.

This morning helped Ron the local butcher move his wife's raised veggie bed, so busy shifting earth and old railway sleepers and chopping forlornly at a tree stump that disobligingly stands in the middle of the bed. The tree stump won and will stay with a flowerpot on its head. I get some free meat during the week in exchange.
Then to watch Mrs Deejay painting doors furiously (8 done, both sides; two to go and a whole wall of cupboard doors before the carpets go down). I just put up a couple of wall lights and re-hung a vertical-blind track with much huffing and puffing.
Finally, home to make the tea -- a gorgeous leg of lamb from Ron! I left it roasting on low for 4 hours.

There's a happy thought.
Well done Mrs Deejay!
Oh and you too, DeejayR. Very busy.
Today I spent an hour clearing snow from on and around my car. Then realised that I wouldn't be driving anywhere as the roads were somewhat icy. I expect to repeat the exercise tomorrow as I have seen the forecast.
I also spent at least an hour wandering around in the snow trying to take pictures. Not very successfully.

Hi folks , me again with a challenge. This is a long one over the winter.
I always want to be a couch potato when it gets cold but I can't do that.
This challenge is about being as active as we can as much as we can until the Spring when it gets easier .
Who's with me ?
Yes me Jamrox amgrundy

Hello, @amgrundy
Welcome to the small, elite, but very supportive keepy uppies group.
@Jamrox has been putting up these small, but achievable challenges to keep us all moving. It is so easy to get a bit complacent, particularly in winter. I know that is when I am likely to hibernate.
All we need to do here is undertake some activity/ (gentle ) exercise and report in.
Good to have another mover.

Hi Pipp, Thank you for replying, I went into the link Re Newcastle Magnetic Resonance Centre / very interesting.:) Iwas diagnosed 2 weeks ago T2 BG 19.03 through diet and Metformin 500mg tablets coming down so happy this morning BG 10.9:)

Hi @amgrundy
Welcome to a club most of us would father not have joined. Diagnosis and weeks immediately after can be quite a shock. Well done at reducing BG. also for taking action and joining forum.
Small changes to diet and activity can reap big rewards.
Keep on keeping on.

Rain stopped play outside for me today. Was going to build a snowman, but thaw set in. :(

Swept remaining snow from paths and went for a walk round supermarket instead.

Will finish the day with some physio exercises, because Joins are seizing up.

Sick of this rain Pipp it's getting me down . I walked about for a couple of hours at work but I'd be lying if I said it was hard. Got the garage cleared out so hopefully I can get into numb bum now and do something when it rains . At least I haven't put weight on but dating bs 6.4 , I like it to be 5.2 or less . I'm lucky and almost 3 years in and still diet and activity controlled and want to keep it that way.

So easy to get despondent this time of year. @Jamrox. The rain is a bind, and I am not able to get to gym or pool at the moment. Asthma bothering me. I have managed to log 7539 steps today on the slave driver activity tracker so far though. ( Walked out between showers and lurked around supermarket aisles while it rained. Also marched on the spot indoors quite a bit. ) Still the tracker has the red line as I have been sitting with my feet up this evening. I am ignoring it.

We have to keep on plodding along. Never give up. Without your inspiring encouragement in these threads I would be a couch spud.

Thanks Pipp , you keep me going . I set the challenges so I don't hibernate like I used to.
I'm going to sign up for the 5x50 challenge again. It's worked the last 2 years so will do this year.

Not up to much today. Have a cold and headache.
Only managed a few short walks, ten minutes at a time. Wondering if I have 'banked' enough effort to take a duvet day or two?

Hope you feel better soon .
You must be hooked doing this when you aren't feeling well.
I've told my friend to knock my door when she's going for her lunch time walk , even if it's raining .

Feel rough. Had a short walk this morning, and a long sleep this afternoon.
Know my limitations. Hot toddies and rest until I feel better, but will move around indoors and do some gentle Pilates and stretching exercises for next couple of days until I feel better.

@Pipp take it easy. Brrrr! It's gone cold even down here on the south coast.
almost 3 years in and still diet and activity controlled and want to keep it that way.
Hear hear, well done.
Also cleared some stuff out of the garage today and put ceiling lights back up, dropping things and muttering a lot. Tomorrow the carpets come so I'll be doing relaxation exercises to try them out. Waiting for a quote for a wood stove mmmmmmm :happy:

Pipp hope you get over the lurgy soon X

DeejayR Thankyou .
You have been busy . Now my kitchen finished we have bought flooring for sitting room , only thing is we are going to buy flights for summer holidays rather than pay the joiner to put it down so it will stay stacked where it is until March lol.

Hi Mo53 I'm a **** swimmer , to be honest I hate my face getting wet so that doesn't help.

I went for a 4.5mile walk and feel knackered but in a good way . Fresh air

Good for you. Prioritise hols over home improvements any day. Got to have something to look forward to. AND to keep exercising for!

Not up to much so only activity of note has been using the vacuum cleaner for 20 mins.

It stopped raining. I stopped coughing. Put on new walking shoes and went walking and jumping puddles. The sun had just a hint of spring. The air fresh. Invigorating.
