HbA1c blood test

I've just got back from the doctors with my blood tesst results. when i explained my overnight sugars were averaging between 10 and 12 he said that was ok. Previously he had said should be below 10. He then looked at my HB1A1C and saw my level had gone from 51 to 71. So off to the pharmacy to get new prescription. Good news is my cholestral and BP are in a good place.

Did he give you a reason why he felt 10-12 was acceptable? Consistently maintaining levels that high is not a wise thing to do, but there are some instances when it does make sense to slowly lower your glucose levels over time.

no he gave no reason :-( it seems he changes his mind each time i go there. hopefully with the change in dosage it will come down to thre 5 to 7 range, will have to go back to testing my levels everyday to avoid the hypo
