Great appointment this morning with DSN

So this morning I had an appointment with my DSN. She spent a lot of her time showing me the Medtronic 640g and insight pumps. Was really interesting to see them both "in person" as it were.
She also asked if I might be interested in a free trial of the freestyle libre? Well yes cause I'm interested lol. And then as if today couldn't get better she also offered me a free trial of Medtronic CGM which of course I also agreed to.

Finally seems like I'm getting somewhere in this waiting for a pump list!! definitely being taken seriously and it feels incredibly good
 
That is good news :)

To be offered both is excellent news, seems like you have a great diabetes team @Hirstygirl, good luck.
 
Wow your DSN sounds great! Lol it's awful having to wait around when you decide you want a pump you just want it NOW but sounds like things are going good! :)

Thanks Mrsass I was thinking my hospital team were not taking me seriously but, now with DSN speaking to reps on my behalf things are looking up

Yeah I know, never had good luck before so maybe it is about my turn?
Lol, to be mentioned to 2 different company reps without moaning or making a pest of myself, didn't think that happened! and considering that I'm still waiting for my appointment with the pump clinic makes me think they have decided already that a pump and possibly CGM will work for me? It feels a bit like Christmas

big Yay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hard to express real emotion in a post but i am absolutely thrilled and over the moon for you :)
 
Well thought I'd give an update so

First appointment with abbot rep cancelled as she had family emergency, which I guess was acceptable. So had appointment with her on Tuesday, where she ran through how reader worked. Sensor was applied under her supervision. Activated an hour later and away we went!
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday readings were all very informative and not that far out from the bs readings I was still taking on my contour next usb

So I'm beginning to see this as a good thing, nice to see what was happening between bs readings and over night

Then we come to Saturday began well, becoming a bit of a scan junkie then last night I brushed my arm against a door frame, it didn't hurt, I didn't bang it, no bruises to see today. However when I looked at the sensor it had come unstuck slightly on the left side, so I tried to scan feeling worriedly! The reader came back with unable to scan try again in 10 minutes, I thought ok maybe it has to warm back up (like the first hour after being inserted) so left it for a while. Kept getting the same message for the next hour or so then it said sensor failed

Now as it is bank holiday until Tuesday I can do no more about it, not sure abbot will help or replace but will call Tuesday and find out

So far have to say that I'm disappointed with how easy it was to knock I mean the rep showed me where on my arm to insert so I assume it had to be correct? Just happy and unhappy at the moment never mind eh? At least it hasn't cost me anything I guess
