Hi @Enclave ,

Did you mean this Facebook "meme"?

Personally. I can't relate to this....

I complained I had no shoes. Then I saw a man with no feet...

I have T1 and heart disease - my attitude is that we're all in this together.

Anything that makes comparison between health conditions is for venting only, in my opinion. It achieves nothing, just serves to share feelings - because those who don't have whatever condition it is can only imagine what it's like. In my immediate family there are (and have been) serious and life threatening illnesses and disabilities. It is what it is, we wish it were different, but we carry on somehow.
Nothing wrong with expression and empathy, but that's all it is, these types of writings change nothing.

Quite @Jaylee. It's a very long way from how I'm affected too.

"Blessings" counted. & appreciated.. Just expressing empathy for those who have more than just juggling the ol BS.
I quite often cringe when I see stuff like the "memes" I posted/highlighted above.
I realise it creates "awareness" for diabetes in general. But as a T1? It don't represent me...!

My meme would be on a bad day it's a pain in the f@@@ing a@@@. like the arterial spray I got from my thumb today in the restaurant as I tried discretely to blood test. It squirted all over the beautiful napkin and table cloth. On a good day - crack on - stuff to do!
That meme is very dark and does not represent me. If it does represent anyone here that must be an awful way to be. You have my sympathies.

yes it was that post ... looks like I have upset people here when I just wanted to say I understood how they were feeling after reading this, as I don't have T1 .. but do have heart problems .. wished I had not posted now :(

Sorry to have annoyed you .. I felt the text had achieved a little understanding, understanding can change everything

I don't see anyone being upset in here so please don't take it personally. As I said if that represents how someone feels then you have my sympathies.
I hate being type 1 but I'm not at that stage yet.

Not upset in the least.. I was supporting & respect where you're coming from.. (I'm not a big "hug" clicker.)

I'm honestly not upset at all Enclave, just saying it how I personally see it - I did mention empathy too! It may strike a chord with someone and in that case there is the connection, the empathy and understanding. But all these..memes is it?..are is the point of view of an individual who is going through/has gone through a rough time, someone sounding off. Not a bad thing to do, but not something that will change a situation.
