Oh no...not unrealistic at all! I've been diabetic over 20 yrs and I've only just recently got proper understanding carbohydrates and their role with blood sugar control....or lack of it.I have such a lot to learn, as I said before totally overwhelming to have to change everything you have known, My plan is to not have to take medication for the rest of my life which I am beginning to wonder is unrealistic after the many conversations on here today.

But...even after all this time being poorly controlled, I'm still having good go at turning things around. Never too late. I do realize I will never be diabetes free...but being able be closer to normal range and most importantly, less drugs the better! After 8 weeks on LCHF diet I've already halved my medication intake!!! My old pancreas and liver are on holiday
Your chances to live medication free life is more likely scenario than mine...but we do have some work to do first
