Hi,
I have a couple of questions.
I am type 2 (Glucophage SR 500mg twice a day) and am moving to Spain (Jerez de la Frontera) in late August. I also have retinopathy (lasers to be done next week).
I have looked online and all I can find for sale in Spain is Glucophage XR. What's the difference and is SR available? I can't take ordinary Metformin, as it makes me sick, so I am loathe to change to XR, if I can keep taking my SR, which is working fantastically well, with a low carb-diet.
How do I go about getting retinal screening in Spain? Can I book that myself or do I need to go through a doctor? Do I need to see a specialist for my diabetes or can I get away with a doctor, who I'll register with?
I have lots of questions.

As I understand it, Extended Release and Slow Release are different names for the same product.
